In conjunction with their inaugural lucha libre convention, a slew of new consumer product releases were revealed.

Masked Republic, who’s mission is “To Expand Lucha Libre Beyond The Borders of Mexico,” and who does so, in part, by representing many of the top stars of the industry for licensing and merchandising, unveiled plans for new officially licensed merchandise this past weekend, in Las Vegas, at their lucha libre convention, Expo Lucha.
Through their relationship with Firefly Brand Management, Masked Republic’s Legends of Lucha Libre™ announced deals with:
• Running Press – For a “Lucha Libre Thumb Wrestling Kit” featuring 2 vinyl lucha masks & decorative capes for your thumbs, miniature wrestling ring to display the masks, championship belt for your winning thumb and a 48 page book featuring lucha libre history and lucahdor profiles with contributions from Matt Farmer and Wayne Utterback, photography from Josh “Rudos Photo” Garcia, Jose “El Pollo” Gill and Jerry Villagrana and illustrations by Jeffrey Everett.
The kit is available for pre-order now on Amazon.com and will be in stores, including Barnes and Noble, on October 2, 2018.
• Underwraps – Halloween 2019 will bring the first officially licensed non-WWE lucha libre costumes and masks to stores in the U.S. Full adult and child costumes for Rey Mysterio and Penta Zero M as well as masks for Mysterio, Penta, Konnan and Solar.
• Star Cutouts – Legends of Lucha Libre joins Star Cutouts licesees including Disney, Marvel and The Walking Dead as Star Cutouts prepares to release the first officially licensed life-sized standees of luchadores along with vintage style paper masks. Standees will be available in Fall 2018 with masks to follow.
• RSVP – Lucha libre fans will be able to have Legends of Lucha Libre luchadores on their walls all year long with the officially licensed 2020 wall calendar which will be released mid-2019.
In addition to these new licensees, Masked Republic and Uware Tees announced a new officially licensed t-shirt for Konnan adding the legend currently seen globally weekly on Lucha Libre AAA, Impact Wrestling and Major League Wrestling television programs to the apparel for Rey Mysterio, Blue Demon Jr., Juventud Guerrera and The Lucha Brothers Rey Fenix and Penta Zero M.
